Make Your Own Upcycled Jewelry

  • Columbus Idea Foundry 421 West State Street Columbus, OH, 43215 United States (map)

Bring new life to your old jewelry using design and color theory techniques to repurpose your broken or outdated pieces!

Learn to upcycle old jewelry into a piece of jewelry that you love. Using basic jewelry making techniques such as knotting, creating pendants and using jump rings, you will be taught how to salvage good stuff from old jewelry to make something new. You will learn to think like a designer by using what you have and learning to design within boundaries. You will also learn how to apply color theory and design rules to create something that is uniquely you.

All materials are provided but bring in your own discarded, broken or old-fashioned/outdated jewelry, if you have any. If you bring your own, brooches, old earrings and beaded necklaces work well for this exercise. The fancier the better to make a truly interesting piece. Say goodbye to your junk drawer of jewelry!

The class is located at the Columbus Idea Foundry.
