Who Is Alyson?
A Columbus, Ohio native, Alyson moved to New York City after completing a degree in Fashion Design from Columbus College of Art and Design in 2007. For 10 years in the New York fashion industry, she designed apparel for companies such as Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret, and many more. Specializing in outerwear and textile design, Alyson has seen her designs on people all over the country. During those years, she started Alyson Jon Life from her tiny room in her Brooklyn apartment. The brand originally focused on handmade jewelry. In 2014, she started teaching jewelry workshops and fell in love with encouraging people to be innovators. In 2020, Make It Work was started as an education venture to teach others critical thinking, feminism, and inclusivity through creativity. Currently, Alyson resides in Los Angeles, CA where she shares her home with her family.
