Craft is Communal Hour August

  • Your Home Anywhere in the world (map)

For the month of August, we will expand on last month’s discussion by focusing on Invisible Labor in craft-based industries (like garment workers and restaurant workers). Who makes craft? How are they paid? Is it fair? What can we do to make this better? Later in the meeting, we will share our current creative projects. You’ll tell us the type of feedback you’re looking for, and we’ll provide constructive feedback in a safe and supportive setting. You can bring ANY type of creative project! This event is for makers of all kinds and levels.

A portion of the donations goes to Upward Bound House to provide school supplies for children in the Los Angeles area. The donation is $25.

Who is this group for?

Creative feminists creatives who are seeking an engaging, inclusive community. Makers of all kinds and levels. For example, textile artists, ceramicists, sewists, designers, fine artists, etc. If you are just getting started, you are welcome to join the discussion. This group is based on the tradition of women from all cultures using craft as a time to be communal. This is how we heal, how we ground ourselves, and how we learn from others.

We are meeting virtually on Zoom. You will receive the meeting ID and password prior to the event.
